Welcome to House Inspections Victoria. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our services, including pre-purchase building inspections, pest inspections, and general pest control. By booking or using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
1. Definitions
“Company” refers to House Inspections Victoria.
“Client” refers to any individual or entity engaging the services of the Company.
“Inspection” refers to any building, pest, or other inspections provided by the Company.
“Report” refers to the written findings provided to the Client after the Inspection.
2. Scope of Services
House Inspections Victoria offers:
Pre-purchase building inspections
Pest inspections (including termite, borers, timber pests)
Combined building and pest inspections
General pest control services
Licenced General Pest Technician No - L010859
All services are provided in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, including AS 4349.1 and AS 4349.3.
3. Booking and Inspection Process
The Client is responsible for providing accurate information regarding the property to be inspected.
Inspections will be scheduled once the Client provides necessary access to the property, either by direct coordination or via real estate agents or vendors.
The Company will conduct the inspection at the agreed date and time, subject to weather conditions, property access, or any unforeseen circumstances.
The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule inspections in the event of conditions that could affect the quality or accuracy of the inspection.
4. Payment Terms
Payment for services is due upon completion of the inspection unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The Company reserves the right to withhold the Report until full payment has been received.
Payment can be made by direct bank transfer or other methods agreed with the Company.
5. Inspection Reports
Reports are provided within 24-48 hours of the inspection unless otherwise stated.
Reports are based on a visual inspection of accessible areas and reflect the condition of the property at the time of the inspection.
Reports do not include advice on any latent defects that were not observable at the time of inspection.
Reports are only intended for the use of the Client and cannot be reproduced or distributed without the written consent of the Company.
6. Limitations of Inspections
Inspections are non-invasive, meaning they are limited to areas that are safely accessible. No invasive techniques or equipment will be used (e.g., removing walls, dismantling parts of the structure).
Areas that are concealed, inaccessible, or unsafe to access (e.g., roof voids, subfloors, or areas obstructed by furniture) are excluded from the scope of the inspection.
The Company is not liable for defects that could not be identified due to limited visibility, access, or information provided by the Client.
The Company does not provide warranties or guarantees for the inspected property’s future condition or performance.
7. Client Responsibilities
The Client must ensure that the property is accessible for inspection at the scheduled time.
The Client is encouraged to attend the inspection and discuss any concerns with the inspector during the process.
The Client must provide any known information about the property that could affect the inspection, including past repairs, known defects, or pest issues.
8. Liability and Indemnity
The Company provides its services with due care and professionalism but does not guarantee that the inspection will uncover all defects or issues with the property.
The Company is not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the Report, except to the extent required by law.
The Company’s liability for any claims arising from the inspection, including negligence or breach of contract, is limited to the cost of the inspection service provided.
9. Cancellation and Rescheduling
The Client may cancel or reschedule an inspection by providing at least 24 hours’ notice. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee.
The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an inspection due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., inclement weather, safety concerns, or access issues).
10. Intellectual Property
The content of Reports and all other materials produced by the Company remain the intellectual property of the Company.
The Client is granted a limited, non-transferable right to use the Report for personal or commercial purposes related to the property transaction. The Report may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared with third parties without written permission from the Company.
11. Pest Control Services
For pest control services, the Company will provide treatments in accordance with industry standards.
The effectiveness of pest control treatments may vary depending on property conditions, and the Company does not guarantee complete eradication of pests in all circumstances.
The Client is responsible for following any post-treatment advice or precautions provided by the Company to ensure the success of pest control measures.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the state of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from the use of our services shall be resolved in accordance with Australian law.
13. Amendments to Terms
The Company reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to the Client and will apply to future services.
